SHAYLA FISH
SULLIVAN HIGH SCHOOL ART TEACHER

About Ms. Fish:

Ms. Fish graduated from Indiana State University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Art Education. She joined the staff at SHS at the beginning of the 2018 school year.

In addition to teaching art at SHS, Ms. Fish also teaches at the Swope Art Museum during the summer months. Ms. Fish’s areas of expertise include printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, drawing, painting, fiber arts, and digital art.

Why she enjoys teaching:

“I love teaching because kids are amazingly creative and I love being there during their creative process,” she explained. “It’s exciting to be able to see the wheels begin to turn inside them when things begin to click…I love being able to show students new possibilities in art.”

Favorite teaching moment:

“This year I was proud of our students at SHS for their acceptance into the Arts Illiana Gallery. Seeing the excitement on those students’ faces will always be a favorite of mine.”

How she spends her free time:

“I spend my free time making my own art at home,” said Ms. Fish. She added, “My family and I love to go to the movies or stay at home and play video games.”
