Agriculture and FFA

The Agriculture Department offers students in grades 6-12 a unique opportunity to learn about the food, fiber, and natural resources industries through hands-on experiences and applications. Utilizing the Agricultural Education Center near Sullivan Middle School, students participate in a wide variety of service and experiential learning opportunities including invasive species control, community landscaping projects, construction projects, pollinator habitat and nature trail maintenance, growing plants in the SHS greenhouse, and a variety of community service projects.

As part of a comprehensive agricultural education program, the intra-curricular Sullivan FFA Chapter is ranked among the top ten (top 5%) FFA chapters in the State of Indiana with numerous opportunities for leadership and career development through competitions, community programs, and travel opportunities across the country.
